Never Stop doing good

The letter from Paul to the churches in Galatia is a scathing criticism of the doctrine of the Judaizers who had infiltrated the young churches that Paul had established during his missionary journeys. The debate centered around legalism, especially the requirement to circumcise new Gentile believers after salvation. Paul argues in detail through 5 chapters that the gospel of Jesus Christ becomes severely distorted when men add certain physical requirements, such as circumcision, to the gospel. Paul, in fact, declares these man made rules become ‘no gospel at all’ (Gal. 1:7).

However, in Chapter 6, Paul’s tone and focus changes dramatically. Despite the hardships and doctrinal struggles of these young churches, Paul encourages the brethren to ‘not become weary in doing good’ (6:9).

This Sunday, we will explore the actions and activities that Paul introduces in this Chapter as we trudge through our own difficult times in our nation. Let us, as the light in the darkness, never ‘become weary in doing good’.
